I just finish this book for the second time in my life. It is one of my favourite books. I like so much because it combines my love for the Greek myths and adventure. Rick Riordan is a great author, he combines true facts with fiction making a great story about an demigod on his travels. This book is like a new Greek myth based on modern times.
This book is about a 12 year old boy named Percy. When he is at his cabin with his mother Sally a hurricane hits causing them to flee. Their suddenly flips and they start to run. all of sudden the Minator is there and kills Sally. Percy in his rage is able to kill the beast but is knocked out after. When he awakes he finds out all about he Greek gods. After his recovery Percy finds out he is a son of the Sea God Posieon. He is accused for stealing Zeus's all powerful master bolt. Percy goes on a quest to the Underworld to recover the master bolt with his two best Friends Annabeth (daughter of Athena) and Grover (a satyr (half goat, half man)) to clear his name and his fathers. If Percy does not succeed there will be a war among the Gods (WWIII). On his way Percy has to get past lots of obstacles trying ti stop him from achieving his final goal including Medusa, Ares, A trap the makes Time go by fast, and false information. This books elements are: Action, Adventure, a small bit of Romance, and Some Riddles.
My final thoughts of this book is it is amazing. It is my 4th favourite book I have ever read after
Lord of the Rings, Inkspell, and the fifth book of this series
The Last Olympian. This book obviously has to be good due to me reading it twice. I would rate this book a 9/10 (yes that how good it is).
There is a movie for this book. I thought the movie was terrible because it did not fallow the story line very well. But By brother who has not read the book said it was really good. Anyone who I here has read the book agrees its bad but anyone who has not read the book says its a really good movie. So if you want to enjoy the movie see it first. It does not give away much about the book but it still follows part of the story line.
